Think about it: wouldn’t you intrigued if you woke up one day and someone handed you the secret keys and a set of specific instructions on how to finally – and truly- get rich quick? Think that’s impossible? Hmmmm….. I guess it all depends on YOU and your ability to stretch your mind. Want to know the secret?

We live in a world full of magic. Yes, magic. For the cynics, realists and those repelled by fantasy … you may think I’m dropping off into la-la land here, but I’m serious. I’m not talking about spells or illusions or the supernatural – although those things do have a place in some legitimate conversations. No, the kind of magic I’m talking about shares the dictionary page with the following related words: extraordinary, marvelous, prodigious, remarkable, stupendous, unbelievable, unprecedented. Who wouldn’t want to live in a world where experiences fall into those categories on a regular basis?

But that still doesn’t answer your burning question does it? How to get rich quick….

So here are three simple ways that you can begin, TODAY, on your fast track to great riches. Please note, just because money is not at the top of the list doesn’t mean I’m forgetting about it or pretending it doesn’t matter. Money does play a part in the equation (and I like and need it just as much as the next guy) but it’s not the ONLY thing and that’s (part of) my point. So let’s get started:

Begin each day with gratitude. No matter what is happening in your life. No matter what! Find 3 things to be grateful for. Search your heart if you must. Plumb

it’s depths … you will discover at least 3, I can guarantee that much. Probably more. You don’t have to write them down, but if you do … over time you will amass your own personal book of inspiration that you can draw from over the course of days that try your patience and test your resolve.

Spend time in nature - each day if at all possible. This is HUGE! In fact, I venture to say that the more time you spend in Nature, the wealthier you will feel.

Focus on the positive. One of my friends and mentors, Mark Hoverson, talks about when he was just getting started on his road to being where he is today … he was desperate, poverty-stricken and close to hopeless about his financial situation … but he was determined to change it. So every morning when he went out for his run, he would visualize – with each footstep – a $1000 commission flying into his bank account. Every day. Every footfall of his run. That’s a LOT of one thousand dollar “magical” deposits. The funny thing is though, things started changing for him. He began getting his life and his business model figured out and as it continued moving forward those commissions came trickling in. And – over time – the trickle was transformed into a flood. A virtual tsunami of $1000 deposits into his accounts. I just heard directly from him that he STILL does the same visualization every time he runs … and now he’s training for the Iron Man. That’s a lot of footsteps and a lot of virtual bank deposits. And it’s working. His income, his business and his quality of life are soaring.

Start asking better questions. That might not make any sense but think about it. If someone asks you “What do you want to do?” but there’s no context to the question and no guidelines for your brain to work within, your thinking will not be as razor-sharp as it would if the same friend asks you “What do you want to do after skiing all day on Sunday?” With that question, your mind instantly focuses on certain things: food, beverages, hot tub, driving home, whatever … Your ability to define your answer will be greatly enhanced because the question was more precise. This works for everything in your life.

The point of all this is that the definition of “rich” could use some tweaking. If the word and the reality mean only one thing to you – “lots of money”, than I’m suggesting here that you might be missing something. Yes, I know that Webster defines rich as “having goods, property and money in abundance.” I just want to throw this into the ring for your consideration: might that definition be leaving out some deeply important things? Yes, the money is important and has the potential to buy freedom, experiences, luxury, even health. But who will you be when you’re looking at that bottom-line on your death-bed?

The kind of richness that I’m talking about here is within your grasp as we speak. It has everything to do with your attitude, your gratitude, your passions, your focus and your intentions. Set those elements of your life in order, work on them consistently and you will wake up realizing that you are living a life of true abundance. Yes, there will be hard work involved. No one ever said life is easy, but lots of people say “life is beautiful!“. Get clear on what you really want, paint a big target on it (more on this in the next post) and never give up. You will discover that you are already rich … and the money will come.
